Mixed Sensitivity Design: an Aerospace Case Study
نویسنده
چکیده
The mixed sensitivity design method for multivariable linear control systems proposed in the companion paper (Kwakernaak, 2001) is applied to the design of a stability augmentation system for the longitudinal motion of a fighter airplane previously studied by Safonov and Chiang (1988). Both H∞ and 2 H mixed sensitivity design are considered. They lead to quite similar results. Copyright © 2002 IFAC

A Study of Fixed Order Mixed Norm Designs for a Benchmark Problem in Structural Control
This study investigates the use of H2, -synthesis, and mixed H2= methods to construct full order controllers and optimized controllers of xed dimensions. The benchmark problem de nition is rst extended to include uncertainty within the controller bandwidth in the form of parametric uncertainty representative of uncertainty in the natural frequencies of the design model. The sensitivity of H2 de...

This article presents a fuzzy robust Mixed - Sensitivity Gain - Scheduled H controller based on the Loop -Shaping methodology for a class of MIMO uncertain nonlinear Time - Varying systems. In order to design this controller, the nonlinear parameter - dependent plant is first modeled as a set of linear subsystems by Takagi and Sugeno’s (T - S) fuzzy approach. Both Loop - Shaping methodology and...
متن کاملRobust Design Optimization of an Aerospace Vehicle Prolusion System
This paper proposes a robust design optimization methodology under design uncertainties of an aerospace vehicle propulsion system. The approach consists of 3D geometric design coupled with complex internal ballistics, hybrid optimization, worst-case deviation, and efficient statistical approach. The uncertainties are propagated through worst-case deviation using first-order orthogonal designmat...
متن کاملThe Utilization of High Fidelity Simulation in the Support of UAV Launch Phase Design: Three Case Studies
Improvement of the launch phase of a jet powered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) with Jet Assisted Take Off (JATO), has been the subject of attention in the UAV industry. Use of flight simulation tools reduces the risk and required some amount of flight testing for complex aerospace systems. Full nonlinear equations of motion are used to study and simulate this maneuver and three case studies of ...
متن کاملA mixed-discrete Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm with explicit diversity-preservation
Engineering design problems often involve nonlinear criterion functions, including inequality and equality constraints, and a mixture of discrete and continuous design variables. Optimization approaches entail substantial challenges when solving such an all-inclusive design problem. In this paper, a modification of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is presented, which can adequate...
